Skipwash Corp. ("Skipwash", "we", "our", or "us") operates the Skipwash mobile application (available on the Apple App Store and Google Play Store) and the Skipwash website. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your data. By using our services, you agree to the practices described in this policy.
1. Information We Collect
We collect the following categories of personal information:
a) Information You Provide
- Account registration: Full name, email address, phone number, building address, and unit number.
- Profile information: Profile photo (optional), laundry preferences, and special care instructions.
- Order information: Pickup and delivery details, bag size, service selections, and order history.
- Payment information: Billing name and address. Card numbers and payment credentials are processed directly by Stripe and are never stored on our servers.
- Communications: Messages, support tickets, or feedback you send to us.
b) Information Collected Automatically
- Device identifiers: Device type, model, operating system version, and unique device ID, used to authenticate your session and deliver push notifications.
- Usage data: Screen views, feature interactions, session duration, and crash reports, collected via Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics.
- Push notification token: A Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) token generated when you allow notifications, used solely to deliver order status and service alerts.
- Location data (delivery partners only): Approximate GPS coordinates during active delivery sessions, used solely for route optimization.
- Camera and photos: The camera is accessed only when you choose to upload a profile photo or when delivery partners capture front-desk handoff photos.
c) Information from Third Parties
- Google Sign-In / Apple Sign-In: If you register using a social login, we receive your name and email address from that provider. We do not receive your password.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Create and manage your account and authenticate your identity.
- Process, schedule, and fulfill your laundry orders.
- Coordinate pickup and delivery between you, delivery partners, and vendor facilities.
- Send transactional notifications (order confirmed, picked up, delivered) via push notification and email.
- Process payments and detect or prevent fraud.
- Provide customer support and resolve disputes.
- Improve app performance, fix bugs, and develop new features using anonymized analytics data.
- Comply with legal and regulatory obligations.
We do not use your personal information for targeted advertising. We do not sell or rent your data to third parties.
3. App Permissions
Our app requests the following device permissions. All permissions are optional unless stated, and can be managed in your device settings at any time:

We never access the microphone, contacts, calendar, or background location.
4. Third-Party Services & SDKs
We use the following third-party services. Each processes data subject to their own privacy policy:
- Firebase (Google LLC) — Push notifications (FCM), app analytics, and crash reporting (Crashlytics).
- Stripe, Inc. — Payment processing. Card data is transmitted directly to Stripe and is never stored on Skipwash servers.
- Amazon Web Services (AWS) — Cloud infrastructure for application hosting and data storage. Data is stored in AWS data centres located in Canada (ca-central-1) or the United States.
- Google Sign-In / Apple Sign-In — Optional social authentication. We receive only your name and email from these providers.
We do not integrate any advertising SDKs, social media tracking pixels, or cross-app tracking frameworks.
5. Data Sharing
We share your personal information only in the following limited circumstances:
- With delivery partners: Your building address and order details are shared with the assigned delivery partner to complete your pickup or delivery.
- With vendor facilities: Your order details and care preferences are shared with the laundry vendor fulfilling your order.
- With service providers: We share data with Stripe (payments) and AWS (hosting) only to the extent necessary to provide services.
- For legal compliance: We may disclose information if required by law, court order, or governmental authority.
- Business transfers: If Skipwash is involved in a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, your data may be transferred as part of that transaction.
We never sell, rent, or share your data with advertisers or data brokers.
6. Data Retention
We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide services:
- Account data: Retained for the lifetime of your account, plus up to 30 days after account deletion.
- Order records: Retained for up to 7 years for accounting and legal compliance under Canadian tax regulations.
- Analytics data: Aggregated and anonymized after 14 months.
- Push notification tokens: Deleted when you revoke notification permission or delete your account.
7. Your Rights & Choices
Under applicable Canadian privacy law (PIPEDA) and, where applicable, international equivalents, you have the following rights:
- Access: Request a copy of all personal information we hold about you.
- Correction: Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data.
- Deletion: Request deletion of your personal information (subject to legal retention requirements).
- Portability: Request your data in a structured, machine-readable format (JSON or CSV).
- Withdraw consent: You may withdraw consent for optional data processing at any time via device settings or in-app settings.
- Opt out of analytics: You may opt out of Firebase Analytics by disabling analytics in app settings.
To exercise any of these rights, email support@skipwash.com. We will respond within 10 business days.
8. Account & Data Deletion
You have the right to delete your Skipwash account and associated personal data at any time.
How to request account deletion:
- Open the Skipwash app → Settings → Account → Delete Account, or
- Email support@skipwash.com with the subject line "Account Deletion Request".
Upon receiving a verified deletion request:
- Your account and profile data will be permanently deleted within 30 days.
- Order history required for legal/accounting purposes will be retained in anonymized form for up to 7 years.
- Any active subscriptions will be cancelled automatically.
- Push notification tokens and analytics associations will be deleted immediately.
Account deletion is irreversible.
9. Children's Privacy
The Skipwash app and services are intended for users aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13. If you believe we have inadvertently collected information from a child under 13, please contact us immediately at support@skipwash.com and we will delete such data promptly.
10. Data Security
We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your personal information:
- All data in transit is encrypted using TLS 1.2 or higher.
- Authentication tokens are stored in encrypted on-device secure storage (iOS Keychain / Android EncryptedSharedPreferences).
- Payment card data is never transmitted to or stored on our servers — processed end-to-end by Stripe.
- Access to personal data within our organization is limited to personnel who need it to perform their role.
- We conduct regular security reviews and promptly address identified vulnerabilities.
11. International Data Transfers
Your data may be processed by our third-party service providers in the United States (Firebase/Google, Stripe) and Canada (AWS ca-central-1). By using our services, you consent to your data being transferred to and processed in these jurisdictions.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you via:
- An in-app notification at next app launch, and/or
- Email to your registered email address.
The updated policy will be posted on this page with a revised "Last updated" date.
13. Governing Law
This Privacy Policy is governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein, including the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).
